“Our production chain” is an initiative by Centro Carni Company Spa to create a quality framework that gives our customers and Consumers a product with something extra.
It is a partnership project, in which the relationship between breeder, slaughterhouse and producer is fundamental. Synergy and collaboration are the key words to make the supply chain virtuous.
We bring our experience to bear right from the start, from choosing the finest animals – preferring certain leading beef cattle breeds and backing farms that embrace innovation – to working the raw material into a supreme-quality product. The animals are sourced from Italy and other EU countries and reared for at least 4 months. Our select breeders use the techniques and the nutrition honed over many years in the Italian cattle tradition, in line with the recognised certified animalwelfare standards.
the animals are reared in Italy for at least 4 months and fed mainly on grain.
Veneto and Lombardy, the regions where we breed, places close to us.
We rear Charolaise, Limousine, Aberdeen Angus Sired and other breeds.
Animal welfare, our philosophy
In the Centro Carni Company production chain, we partner with an array of suppliers – from breeders and butchers to specialist livestock importers. We have opted in to the beef labelling scheme under Italian Ministerial Order no. 876 of 16.01.2015 and European Commission Regulation 1760/2000, as applicable.
Learning, understanding, exploring, discovering, looking to the future: this is our heritage, the inspiration for our curiosity, our will to innovate. It’s not just about experience; training is critical too. That’s why all staff at every stage in the chain receive all the necessary training to keep them constantly up to date. Everything is vital – from hygiene to diet and monitoring the animals’ health. All our staff must meet strict standards and comply with the systems, regulations and ministerial directives in full.
Animal welfare is pivotal to end-product quality, and there are more factors at play than ever before, in particular:
• the procedures on the farm for when the animals arrive and depart, transport vehicles, visitor supervision and health monitoring;
• the housing and each animal’s living space;
• managing the company: staff training and the personnel looking after the cattle;
• the feed, to be provided in balanced portions specific to the animal’s breed, sex and age in order to meet its nutritional needs and keep it in good health.
Fulfilling these obligations while complying with the main certification bodies’ requirements is essential. It is our daily commitment to the wellbeing of all concerned.
